Day of Fire

Day of Fire is a Christian rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. The band announced an indefinite hiatus in June 2010, leaving open the possibility for a return to the music scene. They were first signed to Essential Records, and later to Razor and Tie Records. Their last album Losing All was released January 26, 2010 and was produced byRogers Masson.
Day of Fire's lead vocalist, Josh Brown, was formerly the vocalist for Full Devil Jacket. Signed to Island/Def Jam Records, Full Devil Jacket enjoyed a successful, though short, career. They made one album and one EP, and toured with Nickelback and Creed. In 2000, while in Full Devil Jacket, Brown nearly died of a heroin overdose but was able to recover through a drug rehabilitation program. While recording the second Full Devil Jacket album he decided to leave the music industry and turn his life around, embracing Christianity. Several years later, he started Day of Fire, and signed to an imprint of Sony Music.
Day of Fire's 2004 self-titled debut album featured hits like "Cornerstone" and "Detainer". The album was produced by Scott Humphrey, who has also worked with Metallica andRob Zombie. It won a Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year and was also nominated for a Grammy Award.

Plankeye

Plankeye was a Christian alternative rock band and one of Tooth & Nail Records' greatest successes during the 1990s and early 2000s. Plankeye's style could be defined as melodic post-grunge combined with indie and alternative elements. Their first few albums also incorporated a fair amount of punk rock elements, but this aspect faded when original singer Scott Silletta left the band.[1]
In 1994, Plankeye released Spill, their first album, which was able to garner enough sales to catch the interest of Tooth and Nail Records. Spill was re-released on Tooth and Nail, as Plankeye went into the studio again to record a slightly less aggressive album, The Spark. In 1996, Plankeye released Commonwealth, which introduced a more polished and mature sound. Over the course of the next year, the group toured constantly, opening for the Newsboys. In November 1997, the group released their best selling album, The One & Only. To promote this album, Plankeye headlined "The One & Only Tour", featuring opening act, the Insyderz. One year later, lead singer Scott Silletta and drummer Adam Ferry left Plankeye. Adam Ferry left to become a youth pastor and Scott Silletta left to form the short-lived pop-punk band Fanmail. Silletta later formed a record label called "Vanishing Point Records" with a lineup including his new band "The Franchise". He also created his own recording studio called Orange Crush Studio located in Orange, California.
In 1999, Balmer and Garcia released Relocation on a new record label, BEC Recordings. This album featured Plankeye's heartfelt single, "Goodbye". Some wondered if this song was subtly referencing Scott and Adam's departure from the band, something which Eric and Luis refuted.
In 2001, Plankeye's song, "When It Comes", was chosen by MP3.com to be included on their radio show 'The Download'. Plankeye beat out 12,000 or so other Alternative bands on MP3.com to get on the show.
In spring of 2001, Kevin Poush and Louie Ruiz joined Plankeye to record Plankeye's most experimental album to date,Strange Exchange. In 2002, Poush and Ruiz left the band, and Balmer and Garcia recorded Wings to Fly, a greatest-of compilation which also had 6 new songs including a re-recording of "Bicycle", from Commonwealth.
After Plankeye broke up, Eric Balmer formed a band called Fielding with his wife, Beth who released a self-titled album in 2005 and The Voice of Us on April 14, 2009.

The Age of Information (Trading Yesterday)

The Age of Information (formerly known as "Trading Yesterday") is anAmerican alternative rock band originally formed in 2002 by David Hodges and Mark Colbert, and later joined by Steven McMorran. In 2004, The Age of Information released a demo CD titled The Beauty and the Tragedy, and after signing with Epic Records later that year, they released their first single, "One Day", in the summer of 2005, along with an announcement for the upcoming album "More Than This. After a premature end to their contract with Epic Records, the album "More Than This" was shelved until 2011, when it was finally released independently by David Hodges' Sleepwalker Records.
In 2000, Hodges was asked to join the band Evanescence as keyboardist for what would become the demo CD Origin. After Evanescence finished recording their debut album Fallen in 2002, Hodges left the band to pursue other musical interests. In 2003, Hodges and Colbert began to collaborate and formed Trading Yesterday, recording music from an apartment setup. McMorran would later join the band.
On May 15, 2004, The Age of Information held a CD release party for The Beauty and the Tragedy, a demo album recorded in Hodges' apartment. The demo sold out in a matter of months and attracted the attention of Epic Records, resulting in the band's move to Los Angeles, California to begin work in their major label debut. By November, studio work on the album was complete and final string arrangements were recorded in December. Mixing was finished during the first half of 2005, and by May the single "One Day" was released. However, the band parted with Epic Records on November 30, 2005 for unstated reasons.[1] After the sudden and premature ending of Trading Yesterday's contract with Epic Records prior to the album's release, More Than This was shelved.
After returning to independent status, the band had their first album The Beauty and the Tragedy reprinted for sale on February 25, 2006. Due to leaving Epic, the debut album More Than This was unable to be released due to licensing. However, the entire album leaked to the internet in December 2006. On June 27, 2006, Colbert opted to leave Trading Yesterday to pursue a career as an audio engineer.[2]
Around August 2007, the band stopped performing and writing new music under the name Trading Yesterday. Musicians Josh Dunahoo and Will "Science" Hunt joined Hodges and McMorran, and it was announced that the band would change their name from "Trading Yesterday" to "The Age of Information", with an EP, Everything is Broken, released on September 11, 2007.

    Aerosmith

Aerosmith is an American rock band, sometimes referred to as "the Bad Boys from Boston"[5] and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band."[6][7][8][9] Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock,[10][11] has come to also incorporate elements of pop,[12] heavy metal,[10] and rhythm and blues,[13] and has inspired many subsequent rock artists.[14] The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. Guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton, originally in a band together called the Jam Band, met up with vocalist/harmonica player Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitaristRay Tabano, and formed Aerosmith. In 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, and the band began developing a following in Boston.
They were signed to Columbia Records in 1972, and released a string of gold and platinum albums, beginning with their 1973 eponymous debut album, followed by their 1974 album Get Your Wings. In 1975, the band broke into the mainstream with the album Toys in the Attic, and their 1976 follow-up Rocks cemented their status as hard rock superstars.[15] Two additional albums followed in 1977 and 1979. The band's first five albums have since attained multi-platinum status. Throughout the 1970s, the band toured extensively and charted a dozen Hot 100 singles. By the end of the decade, they were among the most popular hard rock bands in the world and developed a loyal following of fans, often referred to as the "Blue Army".[16] However, drug addiction and internal conflict took their toll on the band, which resulted in the departures of Perry and Whitford in 1979 and 1981, respectively; they were replaced by Jimmy Crespoand Rick Dufay.[11] The band did not fare well between 1980 and 1984, releasing the album Rock in a Hard Place, which went gold but failed to match their previous successes.
Perry and Whitford returned in 1984 and the band signed a new deal with Geffen Records. After a comeback tour, the band recorded Done with Mirrors (1985), which won some critical praise but failed to come close to commercial expectations. It was not until the band's collaboration with rap group Run–D.M.C. in 1986, and the 1987 multi-platinum release Permanent Vacation, that they regained the level of popularity they had experienced in the 1970s.[17] In the late 1980s and 1990s, the band scored several hits and won numerous awards for music from the multi-platinum albumsPump (1989), Get a Grip (1993), and Nine Lives (1997), and embarked on their most extensive concert tours to date. The band also became a pop culture phenomenon with popular music videos and notable appearances in television, film, and video games. Their comeback has been described as one of the most remarkable and spectacular in rock 'n' roll history.[10][11] Additional albums followed in 2001, 2004, and 2012. Since 2001, the band has toured every year except 2008. After 45 years of performing, the band continues to tour and record music.
Aerosmith is the best-selling American rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide, including over 70 million albums in the United States alone.[18][19] With 25 gold albums, 18 platinum albums, and 12 multi-platinum albums, they hold the record for the most gold albums by an American group, the most total certifications by an American group, and are tied for the most multi-platinum albums by an American group. The band has scored 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, nine number-one Mainstream Rock hits, fourGrammy Awards, six American Music Awards, and ten MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and were included among both Rolling Stone's and VH1's lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[20] In 2013, the band's principal songwriters, Tyler and Perry, were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
